The 6 diplomas correspond to the 6 levels of the Council of Europe's Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR):

DELF A1, DELF A2: Elementary use of the language
DELF B1, DELF B2: Independent use of language
DALF C1, DALF C2: Competent use of language

Candidates can register directly for the exam of their choice. Lower levels are not required.


Exams


All examinations are held at the Centre culturel franco-allemand (CCFA) in Karlsruhe.
Registration for the exams also takes place there.

Each exam consists of four parts:

  1. Listening comprehension

  2. Reading comprehension

  3. Oral expression

  4. Written expression
