-be able to react spontaneously when speaking
Learning media and teaching methods
a- You will receive a script before the course (with texts, exercises and links).
b- If you wish, you can read texts aloud to improve your pronunciation.
c- Grammar exercises for A2 and B1 are offered.
d- Short videos and mini-radio programs are used to improve listening comprehension.
e- Teamwork for creating interactivity (also in small groups)
f- Demonstration of dialogues, improvisation

Course content
If you have planned a stay or a semester in France, you will be well prepared for it here. From planning and taking your first steps in the practical life of your new home country to mastering communication at university, as an intern / newcomer in a company or simply with new friends.
In this course you will learn
how to pronounce words correctly
how to read and understand simple and moderately difficult texts and articles
how to write short e-mails
how to take part in everyday life in a French-speaking country
how to ask for information.

In this course, grammatical structures at level B1 are repeated, consolidated and systematically applied in everyday spoken language. The aim is to develop grammatical automatisms in order to be able to communicate more confidently and fluently.

Typical conversational situations, targeted pronunciation training

Ce cours est destiné à desétudiants curieuxfrom allandwho wish to acquire a good general cultureor to the people who would like toimprove their French by discussing, playing (quizzes, sketches, devinettes, taboos) and presenting subjects!
À laend of the semester, a written examwill give you the opportunity to reach levelB2. This exam is graded on50 points. Uneactive participationduring the semester allows you to obtain30 points(communication en cours) et, pour finir,the preparationfor the topics also offers you20 points (knowledge of the chosen topic and vocabulary learning).
Conversations on society
(B2, 3 SWS, 3 ECTS)
This French course at level B2 is aimed at students who wish to improve their linguistic and intercultural skills. The course focuses on (current) topics such as university and studies, the world of work, society, always in comparison to French society.
The work in the course is based on authentic materials - audio and video documents as well as written texts - which serve as the basis for discussions, partner and group work as well as role-plays.
Assessment:
- written examination in the penultimate session (70%)
- oral examination in the last session (20 %)
- written homework assignment during the semester (10 %)
The aim of the course is to strengthen students' oral and written expression skills, prepare them for real-life communication situations and give them a sound insight into key aspects of society.
Conversations sur des thèmes d'actualité
(C1, 2 SWS, 2 ECTS)
Course content
The aim of this course is to examine current topics using texts from the French press and other media (television reports, short films, radio programs, television broadcasts, Internet...), refreshing and systematically expanding existing knowledge of French vocabulary in order to create a solid basic linguistic knowledge in the field.
The focus is not only on language learning, but also on cultural learning: you will discover France and the French!
Through conversations, debates and improvisations in class, you will strengthen your oral skills; by writing comments or summaries, you will improve your written skills.
