In this course, grammatical structures at the B1 level are reviewed, reinforced, and systematically applied in everyday spoken language. The target is to develop grammatical fluency in order to communicate with greater confidence and fluency.

Application in Everyday Language and Communicative Activities:

  • Typical conversational situations, targeted pronunciation training

Exams & Evaluation

We review progress at the end of each class.

This course is designed for students who are curious about everything and want to acquire a solid general knowledge base, or for people who would like to improve their French by discussing, playing games (quizzes, skits, riddles, Taboo), and presenting topics!

At the end of the semester, a written exam gives you the opportunity to achieve the B2 level (graded out of 50 points):

  • 30 points: Active participation during the semester (class participation)
  • 20 points: Preparation for topics (knowledge of the chosen topic and vocabulary acquisition)

Level & Credits: B2/C1, 2 SWS, 2 ECTS

This B2-level French course is designed for students who wish to deepen their linguistic and intercultural skills. The course focuses on (current) topics, always in relation to French society:

  • Transportation / Daily Life

The course work is based on authentic materials—audio and video recordings as well as written texts—which serve as the basis for discussions, partner and group work, and role-playing exercises.

Grading:

  • Written examination in the final session (70%)
  • Oral participation and written homework assignments throughout the semester (30%)

The target of the course is to strengthen students’ oral and written communication skills, prepare them for real-life communication situations, and provide them with a solid understanding of key aspects of society.
