UNIcert®
The KIT Language Center received accreditation for English according to UNIcert® in 2008. In 2022, the accreditation was extended for a further five years. Since October 2023, we have been accredited for UNIcert® IV.
UNIcert® is a certification system specifically designed for foreign language training at universities. It is supported by the Association of Language Centers at Universities (AKS). UNIcert® places particular emphasis on ensuring that university-specific language training takes into account the specific needs of participants, as well as the objectives and working methods of higher education.
It aims to contribute to a greater standardization of language certification in the university sector and lead to a certificate that is widely accepted outside of universities as proof of language proficiency.

The Language Center offers students and staff the opportunity to acquire or deepen (technical) language skills in order to gain an additional qualification.
After successful completion of the training program or the UNIcert® exam, participants can obtain the UNIcert® certificate. Regular attendance of the accredited courses is a prerequisite; registration for the exam without prior course attendance is not possible.
For students and staff who have never participated in an English course at the Language Center, the placement test is mandatory. Based on this test, your level is determined, and you will find out at which UNIcert® level you can continue your training.
Would you like to skip modules? The number of courses can be determined individually.
