Intensive courses during the semester break

Intensive courses will be offered from April 7 to 17, 2026 (shortly before the start of the semester).

Online registration runs until the start of the course via SignMeUp and starts on March 23 at 09:00. A corresponding link will be activated here soon.

Please take the obligatory placement test if you have never attended an English course before. The placement test for SS 2026 is expected to be available from mid-February.

The courses still count for the winter semester 2025-26. The first course per semester is free of charge for KIT students. For KIT employees or students/employees of other Karlsruhe universities, the courses are subject to a fee (90€ per course).

All courses require active participation and continuous work on the course assignments. A prerequisite for the acquisition of credit points is a work portfolio, which must be completed and submitted no later than one week after the end of the course.

All courses can be credited towards the ^UNIcert® certificate. You may only attend courses at your own language level, which is proven by the placement test or a previous course at the corresponding level.

The grade for the courses is based on a series of tasks, e.g. tests, forums, presentations, online exercises, which must be completed within one week (from the end of the course).
