Since there is no mandatory placement test for French, we ask you to self-assess your level using the table below. Compare your skills with the descriptions and then select the corresponding course recommendation.
CEFR Levels Table
| Level | Designation | Description |
| A1 | Beginner | Can understand and use familiar, everyday expressions and very simple sentences. |
| A2 | Elementary | Can understand sentences and frequently used expressions (e.g., personal information, shopping). |
| B1 | Intermediate | Can understand the main points when clear standard language is used and express themselves simply and coherently. |
| B2 | Upper Intermediate | Can understand complex texts, communicate spontaneously and fluently, and express their own opinion. |
| C1 | Advanced | Can understand demanding, longer texts, express themselves spontaneously, and use the language flexibly for social and professional purposes. |
| C2 | Proficiency | Can understand practically everything they read or hear with ease, summarize information, and express themselves very fluently. |
