Course content

Chinese 1 a, b, c, d

for beginners with little or no previous knowledge

This course is suitable for all beginners with little or no previous knowledge.

Course content

  • Basic knowledge of pronunciation and characters

  • Basic grammatical phenomena

  • Colloquial language for everyday situations, e.g. greetings, introducing yourself and your family, shopping, eating out...

  • Regional studies, which are addressed in the lesson material

  • Singing Chinese songs

Preparation for the HSK exam - After the course, there is the voluntary opportunity to take level 1 of the HSK exam in Karlsruhe, an internationally recognized standard exam for Chinese, and to obtain a certificate.

Two ECTS points are earned by passing the course exam.

Listening, speaking, reading and writing skills are developed simultaneously in the course. You also learn how to learn.

The textbook will be announced in the first lesson.

Chinese 2a, 2b

for advanced learners; continuation of Chinese 1a, 1b and 1c

Continuation course for courses 1a, 1b and 1c, also suitable for career changers. With the help of real-life exercises, more flexible and complex communication skills can be developed.

Contents

  • Further pronunciation exercises

  • Expansion and consolidation of Chinese grammar with repetition of what has been learned previously

  • Expansion of vocabulary with repetition of previously learned words

  • Promoting the ability to use the grammar and vocabulary learned according to different topics

  • Further basic characters

  • Regional studies that are addressed in the lesson material

  • Other elements of Chinese culture

  • Preparation for the HSK exam - After the course, there is the voluntary option of taking level 1 or 2 of the HSK exam, an internationally recognized standard exam for Chinese, in Karlsruhe and obtaining a certificate.

Chinese 3

for advanced learners; continuation of Chinese 2a and 2b

Continuation course for course 2a and 2b, also suitable for newcomers. With the help of real-life exercises, more flexible and complex communication skills can be developed.

Contents

  • Step-by-step transition from the pinyin text section to the whole character text

  • Characters are explained and practiced individually

  • Grammar is repeated, explained and practiced in compact form

  • Expansion of grammar and vocabulary

  • Form sentences with characters, write and present short essays

  • More communication in Chinese in class

  • Topic-oriented regional studies depending on the subject matter and the interests of the course participants

  • Preparation for the 3rd level of the HSK exam

During the semester or after this course, you can take a corresponding HSK exam in Karlsruhe, an internationally recognized standard exam for Chinese, and obtain a certificate. Participants who do not wish to take the HSK exam or only wish to take it at a later date can also build up a solid language foundation in this course.

Chinese 4

for advanced learners; continuation of Chinese 3

Continuation course for course 3, also suitable for career changers. With the help of real-life exercises, you will develop more flexible and complex communication skills.

  • Further frequently used signs are explained and practiced

  • Grammar is explained compactly and practiced in various ways

  • Expansion of grammar and vocabulary

  • Form sentences with characters, write and present short essays

  • More communication in Chinese in class

  • Topic-oriented regional studies depending on the subject matter and the interests of the course participants

  • Preparation for the 3rd level of the HSK exam

Depending on their previous knowledge, course participants have the opportunity to take the HSK 3 exam in Karlsruhe. HSK is an internationally recognized standard examination for Chinese. If you don't take the exam, you will have a solid foundation in Chinese at HSK-3 level. You can continue to build on this basis.

Listening, speaking, reading and writing skills are developed simultaneously in the course. You also learn how to learn.

Chinese 5

for advanced learners; continuation of Chinese 4

Continuation course for course 4, also suitable for career changers. With the help of real-life exercises, more flexible and complex communication skills will be developed.
