Fast-Track
The length of the UNIcert® training depends on the participants' previous knowledge and experience with the English language. However, as each participant has different levels of prior knowledge, we offer the option of completing the course on a fast-track basis. This means that the UNIcert® level is completed after an agreed number of courses. This means that existing English language skills can be taken into account.
If you are interested in the fast-track option, please complete the online form below. The examination board will then decide whether your fast-track application is successful and will determine how many courses you need to complete. In some cases, a further test may be required.
As the course program is modular, English courses can be taken over several semesters (there are block/intensive courses and weekly semester-long courses) until the required number of successfully completed courses is reached. Each participant in an English course automatically enters the UNIcert® training program at the level determined by their first placement test. You only need to apply for Fast-Track if you wish to complete the UNIcert® level with less than four courses or 8 ECTS.
Previous knowledge that is proven in a suitable manner can be recognized as equivalent for the UNIcert® training by the examination board:
- Study abroad (at a university or in an employment relationship)
- Achievements in completed courses in English at KIT or other institutions
- Placement test (before starting the first course)
* The term "course" refers to a course that comprises 2 SWS per week and upon successful completion of which the participants receive 2 ECTS. some courses offer participants the opportunity to acquire 3 ECTS due to the high proportion of independent learning, group tasks, ILIAS forums, etc. UNIcert® candidates who pass such 3 ECTS courses can shorten their training accordingly.
