Latin 1

This course is offered for 4 hours (2 x 90 minutes per week) and leads to Latin 2.

The course is an intensive course. Regular and concentrated participation is therefore required. Weekly workload at home: approx. 8 hours.

Latin 2

Preparation for the Latinum

This course is the direct continuation of Latin 1. We work with the textbook Unikurs Latein (ed. Peter Kuhlmann, ISBN 978-3-7661-7595-3) and then read selected texts from Cicero's speeches.

Theprerequisite is a command of the Latin forms and sentences as well as the vocabulary of the textbook Unikurs Latein up to and including lesson 14 and a passed entrance exam covering this material.

The course is to be understood as an intensive course. Regular and concentrated participation is therefore required. Additional weekly workload at home: approx. 8 hours.

Towards the end of the semester, it is possible to take the supplementary examination 'Latinum' externally (not at KIT).
