Intensive courses during the semester break
Intensive courses will be offered from April 7 to 17, 2026 (shortly before the start of the semester).
Online registration runs until the start of the course via SignMeUp and starts on March 23 at 09:00.
Please take the obligatory placement test if you have never attended an English course before. The placement test for SS 2026 is expected to be available from mid-February.
The first course per semester is free of charge for KIT students, in this respect the courses still count for the winter semester 2025-26. For KIT employees or students / employees of the other Karlsruhe universities, the courses are generally subject to a fee (90€ per course).
All courses require active participation and continuous work on the course assignments. A prerequisite for the acquisition of credit points is a work portfolio, which must be fully completed and submitted no later than one week after the end of the course.

All courses can be credited towards the UNIcert® certificate. You may only attend courses at your own language level, which is proven by the placement test or a previous course at the corresponding level.
The grade for the courses is based on a series of tasks, e.g. tests, forums, presentations, online exercises, which must be completed within one week (from the end of the course).
