Englisch wird am KIT immer wichtiger – sowohl im Austausch mit internationalen Studierenden als auch in der täglichen Arbeit mit nicht-deutschsprachigen Kolleginnen und Kollegen. Dieser Kurs bietet Ihnen die Möglichkeit, Ihr Selbstvertrauen im Sprechen zu stärken und Ihre Kommunikationsfähigkeiten gezielt zu verbessern.
 
Kursinhalte
Der Fokus liegt auf praxisnaher Konversation, um Ihre Sprachbeherrschung und Ihr Hörverständnis zu fördern. Sie erweitern und vertiefen Ihren Wortschatz, während Grammatik gezielt als Hilfsmittel für eine klare und effektive Kommunikation eingesetzt wird.
 
Einige Teilnehmende haben bereits mit dem Kursbuch Language Leader gearbeitet. Gemeinsam setzen wir das Buch fort und bearbeiten neue Kapitel. 

Für Neueinsteiger: Wenn Sie zum ersten Mal teilnehmen, empfehlen wir Ihnen, einen Einstufungstest zu machen, um die passende Kursstufe zu ermitteln. Der Test dauert etwa 40 Minuten, und Sie erhalten Ihr Ergebnis direkt im Anschluss. Für die Teilnahme benötigen Sie Ihr KIT-Konto (Benutzername) und Passwort. Dieser Kurs wird auf zwei Niveaustufen des Gemeinsamen Europäischen Referenzrahmens (GER) angeboten: B1 oder B2. Bitte achten Sie bei der Anmeldung auf das Niveau des Kurses.
 

Seminar format: face to face in bldg. 08.03
English is becoming increasingly important at KIT —not only when interacting with international students but also when working with non-German-speaking colleagues. This course will help you apply your existing English skills with confidence so that you can communicate effectively in key situations.
 
The focus is on spoken communication. You will improve your fluency and listening comprehension while expanding and deepening your vocabulary. Grammar is introduced as a tool to help you express yourself more clearly and precisely.
Course topics are suggested by participants and supplemented with relevant materials, ensuring that the content is both practical and applicable to your work environment.
For newcomers: If you are attending for the first time, we recommend taking a placement test to determine the appropriate course level. The test takes approximately 30 minutes, and you will receive your result immediately afterward. You will need your KIT account (username) and password to access the test. B2 Course date/time:
weekly, Tuesday evenings, 5:30 - 7:00 pm.
Start: 28 April 2026, end: 28 July 2026 - (No course on 26th May)

Remarks:
This course is offered at two levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR):  B2. Please pay attention to the level of the course when registering.
